PART-TIME PROMOTIONS ASSISTANT
Des Moines Media Group is hiring a part-time Promotions Assistant! If you are a motivated and organized individual looking to extend your education and experience into radio broadcasting, marketing, and promotions, you would make a great member of our Promotions team! This job can be a great way to get your foot in the door and on your way to a career in radio!
The Des Moines Media Group Part-Time Promotions Assistant will ultimately understand our stations and implement their goals. This is the most sought-after broadcast experience in Iowa. You will get the chance to execute station events, live remote broadcasts, and VIP listener parties, as well as marketing campaigns and on-the-street promotions for clients and various charity organizations.
Requirements for the job:
- Able to work up to 26 hours a week, including some nights and weekends
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to be creative and think outside the box
- Computer skills, both Microsoft Office and Office 365
- Reliable transportation & a valid driver’s license
- Lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred but not required skills:
- The ability to shoot and edit video and/or photos
- Knowledge of graphic design programs
- Basic event planning skills
- Knowledge of broadcast radio equipment and programs

PART-TIME BOARD OP
Saga Communications’ Des Moines Media Group is hiring a part-time board operator. This position will help run the board for live sports programming, including Iowa Cubs and Drake Athletics, remote broadcasts, and live in studio shows for KRNT-AM. Additional responsibilities may include assistance with KRNT-AM’s social media pages and basic production work. Other responsibilities across the Des Moines Media Group stations may be given depending on the candidates’ skills.
Requirements for the job:
- Previous board operation experience helpful but not necessary
- Audio editing skills helpful but not necessary
- Proficient using computer systems such as Microsoft Office and Office 365, Adobe Audition or other audio editing and/or automation programs.
- Being proactive when problems occur
- Reliable transportation & a valid driver’s license
- Flexibility in scheduling required as most of the hours are nights, weekends, and holidays.

The 2025 Special Internship with the Des Moines Media Group will concentrate on supporting a legendary radio group’s personalities – especially in the morning – and growing brands. Additional time will be spent learning about the radio business in the studio, business office, and marketing department. After 10 weeks, you will have a working knowledge of radio, digital marketing, sales, branding, and some fun stories to share.
The position is up to 35 hours a week, including some nights and/or weekends. You will start with a 1-week overview of the radio business, then move into an intensive 8-week work/study experience with at least one of our radio stations/morning shows – taking additional projects as assigned – followed by 1-week with promotions, including time at the Iowa State Fair. (Length of assignments may vary.)
The DMMG Special Internship is awarded to a graduating high school senior or current college student with an interest in, and aptitude for, Radio Broadcasting.
